Typical Instrumentation is: Lead Vocalist, Guitarist, Bassist, Keyboardist, and Drummer.
Usually with the above members doubling on Background Vocals.
Full albums can be done, but for your fits attempt. Producing a CD Single seems to be in the best interest of a band. Many Bands can come in and record 10-15 cover songs complete and mix in one day. But generally their need for studio wizardry is small. These bands basically want to capture the essence of their live performance for demos to nightclubs.
Solo acts generally are either guitarists, lyric writers, or Keyboardist. They usually have their songs already mapped out and come to the studio either to have rhythm tracks laid to tape, or to bring in midi sequences for editing. Generally these folks take longer to complete one song. Usual expectations is 1-2 songs per day
